Italian Cuisine – A Passion

Just thought I’d sit down and write a little about my thoughts regarding Italian cuisine. You know, we really are fortunate in Canada to be exposed to so many different cultures and traditions.

I really feel incredibly lucky to be exposed to Italian traditions throughout my life. One of the great things about Italians is the passion they put into the simplest things in life. From making wine to watching sports, I challenge you to find being in their presence a bore.

Also, I have found in my experience that Italians are also very creative. I guess that’s one reason why Italian food has become so popular. Italian food is a combination of all sorts of food items from all over the globe – pasta from the Orient, tomatoes and peppers from the New World, the list goes on – yet when you think of pasta in tomato sauce, what ethnicity do you associate it with?

I guess it’s true what celebrity chef Jamie Oliver says – ‘In some forms of cuisine, it’s all about the chef, but with Italian cuisine it’s all about the passion”. But you don’t have to be Italian to enjoy all the joys food can bring to your life, this is something I believe is in all of us, it just takes a little passion and a hearty appetite! Buon Appetito!

Welcome everyone!

Hey everyone, thanks for coming out and reading my blog. I don’t want this to be a boring blog that is a chore to read, I want it to be a place to discuss our passions in life.

As you already know, my one great passion since I was very young is food and that’s what I’ll be discussing most often of course. For me and many people of Italian descent, a good meal with friends and family symbolizes love, togetherness, security and so much more. Food really is passion and I have a passion for good food so it’s a symbiotic relationship.

This passion has brought me great adventures, from preparing a meal for the Prime Minister to opening my first restaurant from the ground up in Niagara Falls to now having another great establishment in Fonthill – the wonderful people I’ve been able to meet and serve, it has really been a blessing.

What are your passions in life? I hope you are living them, because when you do life just is so much more enjoyable. Until then, “ci vediamo”.
